FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

1. Why don’t you offer stamped concrete?

Stamped concrete is a specialized technique and therefore is twice the cost of regular concrete. Stamped concrete also requires special maintenance. As with regular concrete, once it is sealed it is ready to go. We can provide different finishes on the regular concrete, such as a Mag Finish or a Broomed Finish. We can also offer Color Concrete as well as incorporating Pavers to frame your new concrete. Ask us for design ideas.

2. Will my concrete crack?

Unfortunately, yes. We live in Colorado where there is extensive freezing and thawing occurring. We are also geologically challenged with different types of soils (particularly Bentonite Clay) which can be contributed to ground heaving. To alleviate such damage, we will cut control joints every 10 feet and will secure the job with the proper materials, including wire mesh and rebar.

3. Can you pour concrete year round?

Yes. However, we do need to be aware of the weather conditions—we would not want to pour concrete in rain or snow, unless the job is inside.

4. Should I use de-icer materials and/or salts?

Absolutely no! Do not ever use these products under any conditions. You do not want to ever put these products on your concrete. These materials will create chemical reactions and literally eat your concrete away.

Precision Concrete, Inc. always uses a 4,000 psi city mix for all flat work to ensure a strong and durable final product. This will contribute to your finish product lasting longer in our destructive climate.
